10.31.2023 PBPC Family Bulletin

PBPC Family,

Thank you to everyone who submitted their Commitment Cards on Sunday in worship or via mail. If you were unable to turn yours in, you can still mail to the church (4101 Park Blvd, Oakland, Ca 94602) or email to Ginnie Daniel at accounting@pbpc.org. Thank you again for your continued support and commitment to this church - it is a blessing to see God's faithfulness expressed through all of you.

As mentioned on Sunday (and in previous emails), we will be celebrating All Saints' Day this Sunday in worship. Please bring a picture, book, or item that represents someone who has shaped your Christian life, whether a friend, family member, or even biblical character. There will be a time to share a bit about these individuals during service.

It is also a communion and potluck Sunday. If joining for our potluck, consider bringing a dish that is a family recipe or one that you have received from others. As we remember in worship those saints who have shaped our faith, in our potluck we can remember those saints who have shaped our tastebuds :)

Finally, this Sunday is DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME! Don't forget to turn your clocks back one hour on Saturday night!

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Calvin

All Saints' Sunday - November 5
Traditionally, All Saint's Day is November 1, a day to remember and recognize individuals who played a role in our faith and who now rest in Christ's eternal embrace. These can be parents, relatives, theologians, or historical figures. On November 5, we will have a special service to honor and remember these saints. Please bring a picture, item or a story to share of someone who has shaped your Christian faith - these will be included in our time of worship.

Operation Shoebox - November 12
It's that time of year again - Operation Shoebox. We have a goal of building 50 boxes, either in person or online. All information for our Shoebox collection can be found on our website at www.pbpc.org/shoebox. Physical boxes will be available for pick up on Sunday. If you have any questions, please contact Sue Grandt at 510.530.7039.

Church Work Day - November 18
Join us Saturday, November 18 from 9:00am - 2:00pm (ish) as we prepare a nursery for the babies arriving in the new year. We also hope to put some plants in the ground to refresh our landscaping. Lunch will be provided.

Hanging of the Greens - November 20 + 21
Help us transform the church for Advent and Christmas! Stop by the church on Monday and Tuesday - one lucky individual can place our Wise Men somewhere in our sanctuary as they journey to find the newborn King.
