PBPC Family,
Thanks to those who helped out with the sanctuary decoration yesterday. We are looking good so no help needed today!
Happy Thanksgiving week to everyone - I hope you have a wonderful time with friends, family, or a day to yourself if that's what your soul needs.
This upcoming Sunday is the beginning of Advent and there is a lot going on at PBPC this month. Take a moment to grab your calendar and mark the following dates so you don't miss out!
- December 1 - Advent Wreath Making at Corpus Christi from 9:00am-10:00am. Stop by their gym before worship to make an advent wreath for home before coming to PBPC.
- December 1 - Communion + Potluck. We will worship in the cafe and share a potluck meal together and have a congregational conversation.
- Mondays in December - Advent Devotional. Join us via Zoom at 7:00pm to further discuss the sermon and Advent Devotional, which you can pick up on Sunday.
- December 8 - Christmas Pageant Rehearsal OR Blessing Bag Building. Following service on December 8, either stay in the sanctuary to be a part of the Christmas pageant or head over to the cafe to help build holiday blessing bags for our grocery giveaway
- December 11 - Food Pantry. Help us distribute our blessing bags and groceries from 5:00-6:00pm.
- December 14 - Christmas Caroling with Oakland Churches Together. Meet at Grand Lake Theater at 10:15am on Sat. Dec 14. Dress in festive attire! We will sing carols with other local churches and be done by 11:30am.
- December 15 - Christmas Pageant and Party. Join us in worship for our Christmas Pageant. Following the service, we will have a Christmas Party - lunch will be provided and we'll play a rousing game of White Elephant Brown Bag Bingo!
- December 24 at 4:00pm - Christmas Eve Service. Join us for worship as we celebrate Christ's birth!

Communion + Potluck Sunday: Don't forget your elements if worshipping via Zoom and a dish to share if coming in person.
Communion and Potluck Sunday
It's the first Sunday of the month - we will worship in the cafe, receive the gift of communion together, and then share a meal. We'll also be having a congregational conversation so please stick around after the service!
Be A Blessing
We are flipping the tables and instead of asking for money, we want to give it to you to give away! If you would like to Be a Blessing, email Calvin at pastor@pbpc.org or sign up on Sunday and he will give you $100 to bless others.
Advent Wreath Making - December 1 at 9:00am
December 1 is the beginning of Advent and we will have an Advent wreath in our sanctuary as part of our worship. But it is also a common practice to have an advent wreath at home to light and prepare for Christ's coming. Corpus Christi has an Advent Wreath making event on Sunday December 1 at 9:00am. Swing on by and make a wreath before worship at 10:00am.
Advent Series: Jesus' Great Grandmothers
During Advent, we will look at the four women included in Jesus' genealogy in Matthew's gospel. Each Monday, we will meet at 7:00pm via Zoom to further explore these women's lives in Scripture. Advent Devotionals will be available in the church narthex - pick one up on Sunday.
Pacific Boychoir Concerts
Pacific Boychoir Academy is hosting a number of holidays concerts, a few of them at PBPC. See their flier for more information. Tickets required so please purchase ahead of time. You can also visit their website for more information.
Christmas Season Events
We have a number of Christmas events. See the list below and mark your calendars.
- December 8 - Christmas Pageant Rehearsal. We will rehearse for our Christmas Pageant on December 15. All are welcome.
- December 14 - Christmas Caroling with Oakland Churches Together. Meet at Grand Lake Theater at 10:15am on Sat. Dec 14. Dress in festive attire! We will sing carols with other local churches and be done by 11:30am.
- December 15 - Christmas Pageant. Join us in worship as we retell the Christmas story together.
- December 15 - Christmas Party. 11:00 am - 1:00pm. Following the service, we will share a meal, play some games, and play our annual Brown Bag Bingo White Elephant exchange!

City Team Toy Drive
City Team is collecting toy donations for Christmas gifts for children in our community. HERE is a flyer with more information - there is a link to an Amazon Wishlist with items that City Team is requesting.
